This is a stunning Japanese Navy Officer's sword which was definitely a higher-quality option for a higher ranking (or wealthy) officer.  Condition is 99% mint.  I rate nothing at 100%, so this is as good as it gets.  All exterior gold fittings show bright mercury gild gold finish at 100%.  Shark Skin covered scabbard is perfect, with a very nice join seam on the reverse.  Grip is tight and unmessed with.  Tassle is a later war tassel with no distinguishing coloration.  Blade shows an amazing water-temper line, and blade is razor sharp with no flaws.  Tang is signed WWII Era Noshu Ju Katetoshi Saku.  Price is high, but the condition is without equal.
