This funeral pillow case would have been used at the funeral of a deceased veteran.  It features a finely embroidered "chain stitched" veterans eagle, with metal swastika sewn in place.  The other side features an Iron Cross silhouette, bordered in bullion stitch.  Quality tassel material lines the edge.  The front features loops for a lengthy medal bar, which would have been affixed to the pillow.  You can see items such as this at the state funeral of Reinhard Heydrich (though by no means is this necessarily a high-ranking person's funeral pillow - these are rather generic.  A unique way to display medals in your collection!  Please note: there is one small hole through the pillow adjacent to the bordering to the bottom left area surrounding the Iron Cross - difficult to notice.
