Excellent example of the Political Leader brownshirt for a Gau level official. The shirt correctly displays the final, and most ornate, patterned insignia used from 1939 until the end of the war. The original wearer was a Gau Hauptgemeinschaftsleiter (Head Community Leader) and the armband signifies that he was Leiter einer Hauptstelle (Leader of a Main Office). The collar tabs, collar, and armband are correctly piped with dark red artificial silk. There is a gilt aluminum Gau Essen day badge mounted to the breast pocket. The shirt is constructed of political golden tan fabric with removable gilt PL buttons. French cuffs with correct PL buttons. Proper gilt belt hooks (which do show wears of the finish) are mounted into the waistband, which is reinforced and includes elastic button hole strips that allow the waistband to be tightened for a neater fit. Correct RZM label is still present. Overall the shirt shows minor age and very light signs of use and remains in near mint condition. It is very difficult to find an unplayed with Political Leader's brownshirt, and this is an example that will never need to be upgraded!
