This is a Luftwaffe Officer's Dagger from Nazi Germany, the second of 3 daggers purchased from the same veteran in the midwest. Grip shows no cracks to the phenolic plastic.  Scabbard has original matte-grey finish with no dents or other flaws.  Blade shows minor peppering but retains a full factory grain finish.  23CM portepee is original to the dagger.  Hangers are the deluxe type, and are also original to the dagger.  This dagger was part of the formal uniform regulations from 1937 until the end of the war in 1945.
