Scarce example of the SA Command flag for Reserve Sturmbann R130, which was located in Berleburg in SA Group Westfalen, Brigade 68 Arnsberg. The command flag would have been carried and displayed at every drill, demonstration, parade, exhibition, etc. in which the Sturmbann participated. Textbook example of multi-piece cotton construction with chain-stitched unit designation. The size is about 33 inches x 18 inches. There is an opening with an internal sleeve on one side of the flag which was for a supporting arm mounted on the flagpole--the metal arm would slide into the flag sleeve so the flag would always be fully extended and easily legible. There are several small patches as can be seen in the images--it's unknown whether the flag was repaired during the period or later. They are UV non-reactive (no glow) and are not distracting. The flag colors are still bright and show no fading. A very difficult to find SA Command flag!
