Description

This original Hoffmann photograph of Alfred Rosenberg depicts the subject facing right to the viewer. An excellent study of his collar insignia. Signed in pencil. It is not known whether this is a period or post-war (captivity) signature. Written in pencil. Reverse also has the following caption, also written in pencil: Alfred Rosenberg, Nazi Leader, hanged as war criminal. My guess is that this is a captivity autograph - very commonly obtained by jailors and other prison employees, in exchange for small favors to the inmates. Photo has one small bend on the bottom right corner, hardly visible. Hoffmann stamp on the reverse.
