Description

This is perhaps one of the rarest cuff titles to find loose on the market in decades past.  It was a band worn by both Heinrich Hiimmler and the heads of his 8 main departments, to include the SS Hauptamt (SS-HA or main office), the RuSHA (Race and Resettlement), PersHA (Personnel), departments such as Race and Resettlement, etc.  Because all subordinates within these offices wore different cuff-bands, the bearers of the band in question were very small in number.  More than 9 men wore these bands because staff assignments changed, but the number is still very rare.  Add to that fact that as a war souvenir, a simple band of silver bullion embroidery did not make a very "sexy" war trophy, these are exceptionally rare to find on the open market not connected to a uniform.  This was the case until about a decade ago when a small number of them were discovered in a larger hoard of SS material collected as a "group" by one veteran.  So they do exist, and exist in minor variations.  This is as textbook as they come, matching the bands worn on known uniforms.  Mint condition, showing minor wrinkling to the band from folding (this is after all 100% pure bullion embroidery).  No RZM tag is almost ever present on these loose bands, indicating that they were likely leftover factory stock and never actually sold to a tailor for use (which would have triggered the use of an RZM tag representing that the tax had been paid on the production of the item).  Missing from 99% of SS insignia collections.
