This is a rare opportunity to acquire a set of boards worn in the very early years of the SS. Probably dating 1934-1935, but possibly worn during the 1936 Olympic Games, because these were designed to be snap-attached to a white tunic, which for NCOs, was very rare with the exception of riding units that participated in the Olympic Games. This is purely conjecture, however. What is not is the perfect matching LAH cyphers. Black-and-silver twist cord piping is expertly applied. Impressions are apparent, from where the tunic shoulder button rested against the fine quality black wool. The pair shows minor soiling, but has little to no wear. These likely had a cloth tag when initially produced, but the tags were likely removed to accommodate the snap additions. Exceedingly rare, with the snaps, probably one-of-a-kind.
