Older high quality copies, possibly by Souval, with enamel and worn gilding. 3 variations in this lot, all based on the few original pieces awarded/produced. First is the neck cross with Oakleaves and Swords. Reverse of suspension is marked '800' (but is not silver), gilding is faded. Correctly woven ribbon section. Second is the neck cross without Swords. The suspension piece has broken off the cross as can be seen in the photos. With correctly woven ribbon section. Third is the pin-back cross. The pin is also marked '900' but the piece is not silver. The German Order is one of the rarest state awards of the period, and even older copies like these are difficult to find. The crosses were mounted in frames and retain glue residue on their reverses and on the reverse sides of the ribbon sections.
