This is one of the better examples you will encounter.  But for a couple of scratches to the exterior, this piece would easily grade 99% (I give almost nothing a 100% rating).  This condition suggests the storage bag is original to this piece (being the orange color one normally finds with Luftwaffe General Degens). Leather grip and integral hanger are perfect and "like new."  Same with scabbard.  One tiny rub near the tip (easy to obscure with some blue leather polish).  Plated blade is near flawless, except for a TINY bit of age near the tip (see photo - very hard to photograph).  Bag shows separation near the handle area (see photos).  Overall, an exquisite example that will compete with the finest quality and conditioned specimens in collecting.
