This is a World War II U.S. Army M1 fixed bale helmet used by American forces. The helmet features a fixed bale design standard to early M1 helmets. It displays a brass Captain's rank insignia on the front, indicating the wearer's officer status. The helmet includes a chinstrap and retains its original olive drab textured finish. Shell is pierced to accommodate the captain insignia, indicative of period application.  Marked on the interior with museum number.  This helmet was donated by the Patton Tank Museum to our auction, and all proceeds will go to benefit the museum and a charity of its choosing.  This purchase is TAX DEDUCTIBLE (seriously) - a donation receipt will be provided to the winner.
