The Julleuchter (German for "Yule lantern") is an earthenware candlestick with origins in 16th-century Sweden that was later appropriated, mass-produced, and re-symbolized by the Nazi SS. They were given by Himmler (complete with a conferral document) to SS Officer, who were to light it on the "Julefest" celebration - allegedly to replace Christmas. This example has been lined with parchment segments that line each opening. Stored in the original leather box that the veteran stored it in, who brought it back from Germany at the end of the war. Please note: This was sold in the last auction, but not paid for, so is being re-listed.
