Winter Auction 2025 Closed (#1480577)

This overcoat is for an SS-Truppführer for the 55th SS Foot Standard, and is in outstanding condition.  Size is approximately 40R in US size.  Wool is undamaged and in fine condition.  Shoulderboad is cloth-tagged 1937.  Armband shows light soiling, with no tag, but survives in outstanding condition.  All buttons are RZM marked, and dated 1937.  Correct belt attachment in the reverse.  Tag for this overcoat is gone to time.  Tabs are matching, with a very fine quality hand-embroidered "55" on the right collar, and the Truppführer tab on the rank side.  Twist cord piping on both the tabs and the collar is expertly sewn down.  This unit was home-based in the "Weser" region of Germany, near the Wesser River in the northwest of the country.
