Excellent named Luftwaffe pilot’s Iron Cross First Class grouping, consisting of the award document to Oberleutnant Heinz Schröder of 2. Nachtflug-Staffel, dated 4 October 1941, together with his original cased EK1.  The cross itself is a textbook early piece, housed in its period case which is neatly labeled “Oblt. Schröder,” clearly kept by the recipient. Both medal and case show only light age and no damage. The document remains clean, fully legible, and free of repairs or staining. A well-preserved, completely untouched set with direct attribution to a named Luftwaffe officer.  Note: It was not uncommon for officers to save their original award piece and acquire additional pieces for field wear.  This is likely the case here, as the cross is in exceptional, unworn condition.
