Quality specimen of an early dagger, likely produced in 1934. Dagger was produced by the firm of Ernst Pack & Sohn, who were known for producing Rohm daggers. This dagger was NOT a Rohm specimen, but was produced shortly after the "Rohm" order of daggers. It's identical in every other way. Scabbard and lower cross guard have the standard "flat" curvature, indicating this scabbard to be original to the dagger (it is almost impossible to switch scabbards unless you have two EP&S daggers to use, as almost no other dagger scabbard will fit the curvature of the lower cross guard of a dagger by this maker. Lower crossguard is SA Group marked "Nrh" for "Niederrhein". Blade is extremely fine with 100% cross-grain polish, and almost no rust. Etching on both sides is precise and unworn. Grip is virtually perfect. Some lacquer remains on the scabbard. Screws unturned, and ball slightly impacted.
