This is ONE of 3 stone-mint, unissued caps that just came out of the woodwork in the personal effects of a veteran from the 84th Infantry Division. They are brand new, never worn, and "flat packed" having resided in the bottom of a suitcase containing the veteran's materials and war souvenirs. These were likely taken when the vet's battalion helped liberate two satellite camps of the Neuengamme Concentration Camp (Ahlem and Salzwedel), where there were uniform production shops (as there were in most concentration camps). Material is bright, stitching is very tight. Hats smell a little musty. To reiterate, this is for ONE of the three caps. The winner will receive copies of all provenance, but the originals will be staying with the person from whom I obtained the cap, as he's keeping the other two for now, and let me borrow them for photography only.
