Well-preserved specimen features 100% mint blade, near flawless exterior evenly toned.  Retention cruciform screw cover is perfect.  Only flaws to the exterior are a small bit of plating disruption to the lower scabbard eyelet, and one small impact point to the edge of the pommel (see photos).  Grip is deeply toned orange on one side, and slightly lighter on the reverse.  Beneath the rare red-flaked portepee with red felt interior, the grip is a few shades lighter having been covered from the sun, indicating this accoutrement has been present for decades.  The portepee itself is worth almost what the dagger is worth, they are so rare.
