Mottled Polizei style tunic for an NCO rank member of the Schuma (Schutzmannschaft). The Schutzmannschaft was an auxiliary police body of collaborationists operating under German command in the occupied eastern areas and in the Baltic area. The Schuma had a specific set of rank insignia (which were not apparently able to be distributed to every member), however this tunic would have been worn by a German NCO. SS Sturmscharführer tabs with blank unit tab and NCO Tresse are nicely hand-stitched to the collar. Slip-on shoulderboards are silver and black with slightly faded green underlay and black base fabric. Note that this NCO level rank was authorized to wear the officer's cap. On the sleeve is the oval Schutzmannschaft insignia with swastika and "Treu Tapfer Gehorsam" within a laurel leaf wreath. Mottled Polizei cotton blend fabric construction. There are loops for 1 badge on the breast pocket. The tunic shows typical use and age.
