This is an extraordinary piece of history, consisting of the front upper quarter of a camp uniform. This is very typical of the souviners that liberating GIs took home from the battlefield to document the horrors of the camps they encountered. This is from a shirt or dress, and bears a prisoner's black triangle, which signifies "antisocial" classification. The prisoner's number is 14117, which is somewhat early in the detention period of the holocaust. I have veteran acquired very similar specimens, and in one particular case, interviewed the liberating veteran who told me that he and his men took from a pile of prisoner clothing such examples, as most shirts were lice infected and they didn't have the room to bring back an entire shirt (or the desire).
