Exceptionally rare example of the early field grey Model 1936 "Rock" pattern tunic for a Hauptscharführer of the SS Verfügungstruppe (pre-Waffen SS) "Deutschland". The tunic is tailored of fine quality field grey wool with artificial silk lining. The open collar 4 button/4 pocket tunic is made in the same pattern as the SS black tunics. The collar, tabs, and shoulder straps are correctly black/silver piped; the tabs featuring silver grey machine embroidered "SS 1" and machine embroidered "D" straps. Machine embroidered "Deutschland" sleeveband with 7 strand borders is machine sewn to the cuff. Machine embroidered enlisted sleeve eagle. Dagger/sword slit with internal strap and clip. There are loops for 1 badge and a 2 ribbon bar. The condition is excellent with only normal age and very light wear. Superb example of a exceptionally scarce tunic.
